Just watched American Gangster and was wondering what Ruby Dee did in the movie that would warrant a supporting actress Oscar nomination ? I could be wrong (which has happened quite often ) but wasn't she the mother, they could have done without her completley and I don't think many people would have missed her ! Overall it was a good movie a little slow at times but most of them are . Well she didn't win anyway so I guess that maybe the academy thought the same way I did !!!!!
